Rayne Beau, a cat, disappeared while on a camping trip in Yellowstone National Park, but he was located and brought back to his family after more than two months. However, not before he had traveled nearly nine hundred kilometers!

Bad Camping Vacation Experience

Benny and Susanne Anguiano of Salinas, California, have always loved going camping with their cats, so it seemed sense to bring them along for their June trip to Yellowstone National Park. But poor Rayne Beau was afraid one night during the journey and ran away.

For the rest of their voyage, the Anguianos looked in vain for their lost cat. They decided to break their heart and leave Rayne Beau behind before returning home. But as the two were leaving the park, Susanne said that she felt hopeful that her cat was still out there because of the universe.

“We were driving along and out of nowhere, these double rainbows appear, and it just knit it all together for me,” stated Susanne Anguiano. This had to be good news, since Rayne Beau’s namesake is a rainbow.

The Anguianos were finally blessed with surprisingly good news two months later. Rayne Beau managed to go over 800 miles on foot from Yellowstone to a Roseville, California, shelter. Furthermore, Rayne Beau supposedly avoided a coyote attack, according to Benny Anguiano.

Remember to Microchip Your Pet

In spite of Rayne Beau’s valiant journey, the shelter was ultimately able to communicate with the Anguianos because of his microchip.

“Microchipping your cat or pet and registering the microchip online” is what Susanne Anguiano suggests. “We would have never gotten them back had that not happened.”

A cheap and efficient approach to give your pet a chip is through pet microchipping. The rate of a lost cat being returned to its owner is twenty times higher when the animal is microchipped. Moreover, microchipping a cat is a safe and easy process that only takes a few minutes.

If your dogs have already received a microchip, that’s fantastic news! Just be sure to update your pet’s microchip’s contact information if you move or get a new phone number.
