You have to admire how honest and direct kids can be. Sometimes a child’s spontaneous response that most others didn’t expect can be funny (or really embarrassing). This is true of the short narrative for today. I have no doubt that this little darling’s knowledge will make you grin!
A teacher in a primary school class was giving a brief overview of whales.
“I just learned that Jonah in the Bible was swallowed by a whale,” a little girl in the class stated.
Despite being a very massive animal, the teacher claimed that a whale’s throat was too small for it to literally swallow a human.
“I’m positive a whale swallowed Jonah,” the girl remarked.
The instructor restated that it was physically impossible for a whale to ingest a human.
“My Sunday school teacher told me Jonah was swallowed and she would not lie to me,” the young girl retorted.
“That is a’story’ from the Bible; it is not factual, and I will not argue with you,” declared the teacher, rather agitated by this.
“Well, when I get to heaven, I will ask Jonah,” the girl said after giving it some thought.
The teacher was now questioned, saying, “What if Jonah didn’t go to heaven?”
