A Japanese man who found it exciting and invigorating was recently admitted to breaking into other people’s property more than 1,000 times as a pastime.

A 37-year-old guy was detained by Fukuoka Prefectural Police a few weeks ago on suspicion of intruding on a couple’s Daizafu property. The police were unaware that the individual was a chronic trespasser who had committed this crime numerous times for his own amusement and that it had barely been an unusual incidence. During interrogation, the man, who was identified as Yuta Sugawara, not only acknowledged that he had trespassed onto the couple’s property when he believed they were away, but he also casually informed detectives that he had done it more than 1,000 times as a hobby. The victims of Sugawara’s most recent trespassing attempt caught him when they spotted him on their property and pursued him as he fled. While his wife phoned the police, the man was able to immobilize the offender.

During questioning, Sugawara stated, “There is no question that I entered the property of a private residence without permission.” “My palms perspire, and I feel less stressed when I’m anxious about whether or not I’ll be noticed.”

My pastime is breaking into other people’s houses, and I’ve done it over 1,000 times. The 37-year-old guy was quoted by the Japanese daily The Mainichi Shimbun as saying, “I only entered the properties and never inside the houses.”

Yuta Sugawara, a corporate employee who lives in Daizafu’s Sakamoto neighborhood, is presently being investigated by police for possible involvement in other local crimes.
