Celebrities are no different from everyone else when it comes to failure and disappointment. Before reaching their objectives, some had to confront the opinions of others, while others had to confront their own fears and difficulties. In actuality, it is what molded them into the stars they are now.
The folks at Bright Side who overcame obstacles in life to reach their goals are people we are proud of. We also honor some of our favorite celebrities today.
- Jennifer Lopez
Although it’s unbelievable that our diva experienced self-doubt at the start of her career, she acknowledged that she was made fun of. She thought people thought she was a joke. Lopez stated, “I just had really low self-esteem.” “I genuinely thought a lot of what they said about me being bad—that I wasn’t a good dancer, a good actress, or a good singer.”
Jennifer reflected on all the challenges she had previously faced as she accepted her golden popcorn award. “I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped me survive. I want to express my gratitude to those who made me happy as well as those who made me sad.
- Gomez Selena
When Selena worked for Disney, she was incredibly successful, established herself, and was well-liked by everyone. She clarified, nevertheless, that she was not feeling inspired to pursue adult acting roles, saying, “I felt like it was very difficult for people to take me seriously.”
She barely managed to switch from her Disney prominence to other endeavors. It was incredibly frustrating, but I’m glad I’ve gradually overcome that. You know, I felt like a joke. Selena is a fighter, as we all know, and her life’s struggles have shaped who she is now.
- Marilyn Monroe
The blonde beauty had a very challenging upbringing, spending time in many foster homes and coming from an unstable family with mental health issues. She got her big break in Hollywood because of a photographer.
Born Norma Jeane Mortenson, Marilyn swiftly rose to prominence as the most glitzy actress of her era. Despite her traumas and the media’s attempts to discredit her, she accomplished enormous success as an actress and model.
- Ford, Harrison
At the start of his career, Harrison Ford was similarly disheartened. “There was a guy that was in charge of what they call the new talent program, and he called me into his office, and he said, ‘Sit down, kid,'” he remembers an agent he met at the time saying. Yesterday’s rush was visible to me. You will never succeed in the industry. Simply put, forget about it.
Fighting those words requires a lot of tenacity, bravery, and strength. Ford disproved him and went on to become a popular actor, but fifteen years later, he met that agent and received an apology.
- Winslet, Kate
One of the greatest actresses of all time was first exposed to the public on the Titanic; her stunning appearance and extraordinary talent turned attention. But she had difficulties, particularly in the early years of her career.
Kate’s appearance led to her being made fun of. She claimed that because of her appearance, she was frequently passed over for important parts in plays. Although the negativity she was receiving was extremely distressing, she overcame it all and achieved outstanding success.
- Winfrey, Oprah
Unbelievably, a producer told Oprah she was “unfit for television news.” After seven and a half months, she lost her job as co-anchor on WJZ-TV in Baltimore. For her at the time, that must have been a traumatic event.
Yet it undoubtedly aided in her development and helped her become the finest version of herself—the person we all admired and fell in love with. I didn’t realize that this would be the most significant time in my adult life for me to grow. It rocked me to my core.
- Shakira
Shakira decided to pursue her dream of being a singer at a young age. She requested to join the school chorus when she was around seven years old, but her instructor turned her down, saying she sounded like a “goat.”
Furthermore, the producer assured her that she would never succeed when her first audition went horribly wrong. Now look at her; she conquered all of that bullshit and graced the world with her amazing dancing skills and vocals.
- Lady Gaga
The head of her record company told one of the world’s greatest and most well-known pop musicians that she didn’t have the capacity to become well-known! They actually fired her before she had even put out a single song. Since then, her music career has taken off, but it takes a lot of bravery and fortitude to face remarks like that.
She released best-selling albums like Born This Way and The Fame Monster, proving him wrong. Sources claim that after seeing her accomplishment, he declared that this was undoubtedly one of his worst errors ever!
