Watercress tray: a nutrient ‘powerhouse’
With an astounding nutrient density score of 100 out of 100, this leafy green has been named the healthiest vegetable by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Not only is watercress the healthiest vegetable, but it also outperformed Chinese cabbage, which came in second, by a margin of over eight points.
Due to its ideal nutritional density score, which measures a food’s nutritious content relative to its caloric content, watercress was awarded top honors. Stated differently, a food that is high in nutrients contains more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants per gram of calories.
More than 40 fruits and vegetables are listed as “powerhouses” in the CDC study. Even though only watercress achieved a flawless score, it’s still important to recognize the runners-up. The following complete the top five:

You can obtain a more complete complement of nutrients as a result.
